so basically, the only freedom you care about is the freedom to give taxes for excessive numbers of prisons and cops, but not a decent health care system?
I met Laura and Bryan Sanchez @ the July 4th demonstration (they were finishing packing up for the day to “attend barbecues”). I was refreshed and encouraged to meet other proud Americans. True Patriots I thought. I am now beginning to see that the RC “Patriots” are just like all other petite bourgeoisie, interested in economic freedom, and little else. I hope I’m wrong, and eagerly await a response pointing out the fundamentals of my misconceptions.

Thank you for taking such an interest in our efforts. We wanted to point out that it is not healthcare REFORM that we oppose, but rather, a multi-trillion dollar TAX on ALL Americans. Though the idea of universal healthcare is popular, we at RC Patriots believe more strongly in the principles of freedom and personal choice. The healthcare reform, as it is currently proposed, seeks to force Americans into government programs regardless of choice. This violates the principles that the Founders held so dear, and is a breach of “common sense”. Let the individual choose his/her destiny and keep government out of peoples personal lives!

First let me reiterate our position; We are in favor of SOCIALIZED health care, not UNIVERSAL. My Comrades and I believe that if this country can afford to have 1 in 42 American Adults incarcerated, on parole or on probation, and provide them with top notch health care, then something needs to be readily available for all other tax paying, law abiding citizens. That is not to say that everyone should be forced to have the same health care, only that there is no way in hell that you can justify Congressmen having better health care than the constituents that they are supposedly representing! How is it that a person can work and pay taxes in this country, but not have effective, affordable health care? Despite having a health care plan, people in this country are treated on the basis of profit, not necessity! You cannot be a decent person and be okay with that, no matter what the effect may be on your bank account!
Second, do not think that by refusing to allocate taxes to a worthy cause, that by some miracle you are keeping the government out of your lives! They will be taking our money one way or another, it is time for people to wake up and voice our desire to see those taxes re-invested in our growth, rather than our incarceration, surveillance, and/or indoctrination.
You will all be in our prayers, as your decision making effects all of us, not just yourselves.
